Season best for Monteiro

"I like the Nurburgring and it was great to get my best finish of the season in twelfth," said Tiago Monteiro who claimed his best finish of the season at the Nurburgring (on Sunday).

"I had a good start and after one lap was already in 17th position and avoided the incident between Coulthard and Liuzzi. The pace car didn't impact on us too much and I took the opportunity at the restart to pass Takuma Sato."

"I had a heavy fuel load and was running on soft tyres so had to be careful to protect them. We ran a two-stop race and the team was perfect. I made my first stop on lap 24 and my second one on lap 42."

"This is the kind of race I really enjoy. From the beginning of the season, Christijan Albers and I had never had a chance to compete against one another under normal race conditions."

"It was interesting because we were on two different strategies. I think we had a pretty good rhythm throughout the race. It is good to get my best finish of the season and to finish ahead of my team mate."
