Hamilton was not as happy with the car in single-lap trim as Bottas, although on Friday his race pace looked bang on. It was no surprise he ended up second in qualifying, although the six-tenths gap was due to going out first for his key Q3 run after aborting his last Q2 lap and not charging the battery. Once ahead at the start, he dominated.

Verdict: Although he led every lap on his way to a third win of 2019, Hamilton relied on a little good fortune at the start and still isn't quite there on single-lap pace.
