In Allison’s own words, Mercedes has made a car that’s aggressive – despite the fact that there’s no change in the regulations or the tyres – taking every part of the car and challenging his design team to make it better.

James Allison: “At the front we’ve changed a lot of the structure of the front corners, making it much harder for ourselves structurally, much harder to take the forces but, we’ve rearranged the detail inside the wheels and the way the suspension goes into those wheels so that we have more aerodynamic opportunity in the front end.”
