Teddy Mayer memorials announced

REMEMBERING TEDDY MAYER

The family and friends of Teddy Mayer wish to extend their sincerest gratitude for the outpouring of well-wishes and remembrances of their father, grandfather and friend. His loss last week was a stunning blow and affected the motorsport community worldwide, both fans and officials from the world's leading championships.

A memorial service and celebration of Teddy's life is planned in the UK for Saturday at McLaren Technology Center with the kind permission of Ron Dennis and the McLaren Group. A US service is planned for the spring in Teddy's birthplace of Scranton, Pa.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family also asks that you consider a donation to one of these registered charities that were a part of Teddy's life:

The Parkinson's Disease Society. It is the leading organization in the UK for research into treatments and cures for Parkinson's and was the choice of Teddy's doctors.

The Michael J. Fox Foundation. This foundation focuses on closing the gap between research and practical treatments.

MIVA America. It uses motorsports to gather funds to buy ambulances and other special vehicles for missionaries in Third World nations. This work of Father Phil DeRea was supported by Teddy for two decades. Donations can be made to MIVA America, 305 S. Lake Street, Aurora, IL 60507.
