Testing wraps up at Paul Ricard

April 28th was the final day of testing at the Paul Ricard HTTT circuit in France and three drivers from two teams were at work. Quickest of the trio was Toyota's Ralf Schumacher with a best time of 58.840 and team test driver Ricardo Zonta was third.

Ralf had his first run in the B-spec car. "Today we tried different tyre specifications and set-ups for the coming races," he commented. "I worked with the new car and everything is going as expected, but we had some delays while work was being done on the car and therefore I cannot say a whole lot about it yet."

Zonta worked mainly on tyres and test team manager Gerd Pfeiffer was satisfied with the work done this week. "This test has been quite productive for us," he said. "With both cars we worked on general set-up and tyre testing, as well as smaller items like damper set-ups. We also analyzed some issues from the last race and it looks like we've found some good solutions."

In between the two Toyotas was the Ferrari of Michael Schumacher; he worked on tyres. Teammate Felipe Massa was once again at Fiorano and rounded off his week of new components, electronics and set up on a wet track. He set a best time of 1:01.547 and completed 124 laps. Team tester Luca Badoer will shakedown the cars for the European GP at Fiorano next week.
