Amid all the soul searching in trying to improve Formula 1's cars and sporting rules for 2021, the idea of track design's role in improving the spectacle has been somewhat overlooked.

Almost all of the blame for the lack of overtaking in F1 has revolved around the aero wake generated by the cars and the characteristics of the tyres - two aspects that are being changed for next year.
