This week, Scuderia Toro Rosso paid its first ever visit to Silverstone, home to the British Grand Prix on 11 June. During a three day, Tuesday to Thursday test, all three of its drivers had a day each at the wheel, completing a trouble free total of 279 laps between them.
"All the drivers did a good job with no mistakes," said Chief Engineer Laurent Mekies. "We were evaluating some new aero parts, including a front wing and generally we worked on set-up for the British GP. Today, Tonio also worked on Qualifying simulation."
Our Mr. Mekies evidently suffers from short term memory loss when he states the drivers made no mistakes. In what some people might see as an act of sabotage on the opposition, Tonio, on loan to our friends at Red Bull Racing on Wednesday, did a very impressive job of writing-off one of their chassis.
Circuit: Silverstone Circuit - 5.141 km
Car: STR1 - chassis 04
Tuesday: Neel Jani, 85 laps, 1:23.33
Wednesday: Scott Speed, 106 laps, 1:20.48
Thursday: Tonio Liuzzi, 88 laps, 1:19.98
