European Minardi F1x2 is today pleased to announce that Trust International has agreed terms to become title sponsor of this year's exciting Thunder at the Rock weekend. In recognition of the new commercial arrangement, the official title of the event, to be staged at the impressive Rockingham International Speedway facility in Northamptonshire, on August 29-31, will be Trust Presents Thunder at the Rock.
The eagerly anticipated annual event showcases European Minardi's fleet of eight two-seater Formula One cars in a weekend-long festival of motor sport action and family entertainment. Also featured will be the potent blend of cars, stars and guitars for which "Thunder" weekends have become well-known.
Formula One drivers, as well as stars from other major motor racing series and well-known celebrities, will perform on track with the European Minardi F1x2 and single-seater F1 cars, while top music acts will perform on stage at lunch time and at the conclusion of circuit activities on the Saturday and Sunday. There will also be a support programme, including an ASCAR race on Rockingham's 1.5-mile, high-speed, banked oval, Formula One pit stop demonstrations, autograph sessions, a fun fair and other activities, making this a real family weekend.
"Trust International has been an unstinting supporter of the European Minardi F1 Team this season, and we are very pleased to welcome Michel Perridon and his company on board as title sponsor for Thunder at the Rock," says European Minardi Team Principal, Paul Stoddart. "It will be Trust's first experience of this exciting event, which definitely promises to be the best yet, particularly as it will be staged against the dramatic and hugely impressive backdrop of Rockingham International Speedway."
Michel Perridon, CEO of Trust International comments, "I am delighted to be able to announce today that Trust International will support Paul Stoddart, and the whole European Minardi team, at its Thunder at the Rock weekend this year. We enjoy a strong relationship together in F1, and it is therefore natural that we should support the team at this exciting event. We wish the whole team the best of luck, and look forward to being at Rockingham to enjoy what I am sure will be a tremendous weekend."
