Verstappen has Sauber seat fitting

Jos Verstappen has visited Sauber's factory in Hinwil, Switzerland, to have a seat fitting with the team. Verstappen was recently ousted from a drive at Arrows despite having signed a contract to drive with the team this year and the chances of him finding a seat for the season were looking slim. Now the Dutchman is looking at a possible role as Sauber test driver.

"The Sauber Petronas Formula 1 team has shown interest in me as a test and third driver with their team." Verstappen explained. "That is why I was invited for a so called seat fitting, the car needs various modifications to be comfortable for me, at the moment we are looking at what changes can be made."

Sauber do not have an official test driver and if he gets the job Verstappen would fill in for either Nick Hedifeld or Felipe Massa should one of them be unable to race. He was believed to have been offered a testing role at Ferrari, due to his friendship with Michael Schumacher, but turned it down as he thought he would be racing with Arrows. Whether Verstappen will test with Sauber is yet to be seen but it's likely to be soon if he does.
