There was slightly increased activity on track at Jerez on Tuesday as six drivers from four teams were at work. Once again it was the pair of Williams' at the top of the time sheet, this time with Mark Webber leading Nick Heidfeld. Webber's best was 1:16.558 and Heidfeld was two tenths astray.

Webber worked on evaluating tyre compounds and also brake duct configurations on the interim chassis. Heidfeld continued with set up work and will make way for rival Antonio Pizzonia tomorrow.

Team tester Franck Montgany was the sole Renault present and was third fastest, some nine tenths slower than the Williams pair. Tyres were the Frenchman's main focus, as well as electronic development.

Anthony Davidson, fourth, and Enrique Bernoldi, sixth, continued with BAR's programme, each driving a 'concept car' and working on tyres and set up. Ralf Schumacher put the new Toyota TF105 through its initial paces and was fifth on the time sheet.

Schumacher's time was over two seconds off Webber but it should be noted that his car and Davidson's BAR are seemingly the only two currently testing the 2005 spec aero package. Schumacher was half a second off Davidson's pace.

At Vallelunga Luca Badoer concluded a two-day test for Ferrari. The team's test driver continued with electronics development and tyres and set a best of 57.700 over 112 laps. Fellow Ferrari tester Marc Gen? will join the action at Jerez tomorrow.
