Webber the ace up Jaguar's sleeve

Power, reliability, good drivers and good rubber. These, according to Premier Performance Division CEO Tony Purnell, are the key ingredients to success around the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

"The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is actually a lot like the A1-Ring where we were extremely competitive despite some ill fortune," says Purnell. "To come seventh there despite Mark starting from the pits and receiving a 10 second stop-go penalty proves that we were at the sharp end of things there.

"Power is very important there, just like in Austria, and we're certainly not lacking in that area. It's also a circuit where you can run a few notches down from the full downforce setting and we have another ace up our sleeve in Mark Webber. Mark is totally on form at the moment and if we need a couple of extra tenths from somewhere, he will deliver."

Monaco proved that teams running on Michelin rubber have an advantage over their Bridgestone rivals, as has been the case elsewhere this season. Purnell sees the tyre advantage as another factor that could work in Jaguar Racing's favour in Canada.

"Tyres will, as always, be important. Michelin certainly has a bit of an advantage at the moment, as we saw at Monaco, and I think we have the edge over Bridgestone," adds Purnell. "If tyres are just a little bit better it makes such a difference. I think that without the tyre advantage it would be business as usual for Michael Schumacher so it's nice to have a bit of an equaliser in the tyres, as it were."
