The British Grand Prix effectively serves as the home race for Force India, with the team’s factory located right next to the Silverstone Circuit.

Apart from two hiccups in Monaco and Baku, Force India has performed exceedingly well this season and has a comfortable grip over midfield rivals in the championship standings.

The Indian outfit is expected to debut its biggest upgrade of the season at Silverstone, including a new front wing.

Team principal Vijay Mallya, who is unable to travel outside of the UK, will make his first and only appearance of the season this weekend.

However, his recovery drive in the feature race and the fastest lap in Sunday’s sprint showed that he’s one of the quickest drivers on the grid.

Should the Jenzer driver be able to knit together a decent lap in qualifying and get off the line well during the races, he will be in a position to fight for podiums again.

Kush Maini would be looking to get his campaign in Italian F4 back on track in Mugello after somewhat sombre start to the year.

Expectations were high from Maini after a successful rookie season. But errors in Misano and a poor qualifying showing in Vallelunga has left him 12th in the standings with 32 points.

However, with four rounds still remaining, one would expect the 16-year-old to return to return to the sharp end of the pack sooner rather than later.

Ricky Donison will return to the US F2000 series after missing the previous event in Iowa due to clashing commitments in the Euro JK championship.

Donison currently stands 13th in the championship with 66 points and one podium finish to his name.

With just three rounds remaining, the Indian would like to end his maiden season in the US on a high note.

The maiden season of Volkswagen Ameo Cup gets underway this weekend at Kari Motor Speedway with 20 drivers from India and Bangladesh taking part in the one-make championship.

Ameo Cup marks a major leap for Volkswagen Motorsport India, which has been running the Vento Cup championship for the last two years.

The race-spec Ameo car was nearly five seconds quicker than its predecessor during testing at Madras Motor Race Track, with much of the gains coming from a new 1.8-litre TSI engine.
