As reported earlier on Wednesday, the Melbourne race - originally scheduled for April - will be held two weeks earlier, meaning the championship will return to its usual March start.
The new calendar ratified by the WMSC has the season ending in Abu Dhabi on November 27 and once again features a summer break - which prompted the latest reshuffle.
The schedule also confirms plans for the Malaysian Formula 1 and MotoGP races to take place back-to-back, as reported by Motorsport.com earlier this month.
The F1 race will take place on October 2, with the MotoGP event the following weekend.
Azerbaijan's inaugural race will now take place on the same weekend as the Le Mans 24 Hours.
The FIA said, however, that the start time of the Baku race will be altered in order to avoid a direct clash with the French classic.
