World Series by Nissan Street Race in Bilbao For 2005
Quotes from today's Press Conference

Bilbao, February the 18th of 2004 -- The city of Bilbao and RPM Racing may led to Bilbao the most important motorsport events besides Formula One, the World Series by Nissan.

Ricardo Barkala, Council of Employement and Economical Promotion of the City Hall of Bilbao

"We have presented today one of the most important events for the city of Bilbao, aiming to the International projection of Bilbao throughout the great TV exposure of the World Series by Nissan. We intend to improve potential in terms of leisure, turism and culture. This street race wants to become a hallmark of the city."

Carlos Gracia, Vice-president of the FIA and President of the Real Federación Española de Automovilismo

"After having viewed all the project I must tell you that I don't see any reason to reject the homologation, which I hope they may have in three months time. I would like to remark that the most important thing for us is the security. The RFEdA will be glad to support this project and let's hope that we may see in 2005 the I Trofeo Ciudad de Bilbao".

Jaime Alguersuari, President of RPM Racing

"I would like to thank all the efforts made from RPM Racing and the City of Bilbao in order to see the viability of the project, finally to take place in 2005. I feel very proud to have set the World Series by Nissan from a company 100% Spanish. After a revision of the project I'm sure that Bilbao may be a very successful race, and be compared to Montecarlo."

Jaume Nogue, Member of the FIA Technical Comission

"The most important matter in the development of this project has been the security. We wanted to offer a technical and sportive solution to Bilbao. The environment pollution is minimal. Another important matter has been the spectator's allocation. The Paddock area will feature three granstands, like a Stadium".

Ander Vilariño, Epsilon-Euskadi driver

"The saddest is that maybe I will not be racing the WS in 2005, as I may be somehow linked to Formula One, but in this case I will ask for a special permisision to do this race. The Bilbao race will be an historic moment and I hope that the people will enjoy the show. I simply can't imagine myself racing in the streets of this beautiful city."
