The rain ruined the first race. Two go-out for Draco Drivers despite the excellent Berthon's recovery of 9 positions

The first day of race for the World Series Renault 3.5 has begun this morning in wet conditions. For Draco drivers was not easy to try the fastest lap, given the many cars on track and several yellow flags that have necessarily extended the time on lap, even with the red flag before the end of the session. Despite the conditions, Julian Leal has steadily improved his times, winning the 8th position on 24 drivers with 2'03 "673. Difficult qualifying for Berthon who has made only 8 laps and he did not find the right track conditions to record a good time, so he had to start from 10th row.

At 14.00 the start of race 1 with the track still very wet which caused inconvenience to many drivers of the World Series, forced to drive behind the cloud of water lifted from the cars, especially visible from the camera car of Berthon, in live on Eurosport.

Bad luck for Julian Leal who, after the excellent free practices, eighth in qualifying and very good chances in the race, he was betrayed by slippery track and he spun, causing the entry of the safety car. The Colombian driver is not able to start again for the engine shutdown.

Only 10 drivers on 24 have crossed the finish line, more than half of the grid was protagonist of crashs and out of track, always due to bad weather. Same fate unfortunately for Nathanael Berthon, out after a great recovery and several overtakings.

Draco Team will try again tomorrow with a new qualifying that will decide the starting order for race 2, in contrast to what happened in past seasons in which drivers had to use a single session. Hoping of course in a better weather condition.
