The clutch's tube and a fender bender take offside a great Omar Leal in the 1o. week end in Alcaniz
With the present announcement Press Office of the international Team Draco racing corrects and clarifies what follows, apologizing for the inaccuracy of the Communication of the race in Alcaniz.
The Columbian driver Omar Leal, after an hard winter training, takes part to the first free tests of wednesday, getting immediately a very good performance, placing 5o. in the session of the morning. In the afternoon, the team works hard for what concerne the trim.
The first day of race of the championship World Series Renault 3.5 is begun in conditions of wet- racetrack. For the Draco drivers hasn't been simple to try the fast-lap , caused by the many cars ontrack and the different yellow flags that have forcedly made extend time to the lap, with even the output of the red flag before the end of the session. Although the conditions, Julian has improved constantly his times, conquering the 8o. placement on 24 drivers with 2'03"673.
Grave shame on race when a particular part of the engine, exactly the tube of the clutch, got broken and the engine has switched off, causing a slewings to the guiltness Omar.
On Sunday Morning they go on scene the qualifications of race 2 and the columbian driver conquers the eighth line. At 2 pm everything is ready for the start that see immediately Leal remounts different positions and fight for the first positions.
Few laps after the pit stop, done perfectly by the Team Draco, the driver Mikhail Aleshin collides brusquely with Leal, sacking him on the sand and making finish his competition.
The Russian of the Team Carlin will be advertenced after by judges of the race, and penalized with 1 0seconds.
An unfortunately week end, but that it has immediately the reaction of the columbian driver, already involved since this week end in the first race of Auto GP.
Interview to Nadia Morini:
"I do apologize for the inaccurate of the Official Announcement. I wish this inconvenience will never happen in the future.
"I'd like to underline the great work done by Omar in the preparation of the race and during all the week end, showing a great personality, determination and force. A real pity to sack in both the races, at first for a problem of the engine, and after for a bump. Anyway, I know that Leal will remount immediately in Spa, I wish him Good Luck!!"
