Rookie Deletraz, a Renault F1 junior, overtook Egor Orudzhev in the dying minutes of the morning session, setting the new benchmark for the two-day test at 1m40.235s.

And unlike on Saturday, the morning times were unmatched in the afternoon, leaving the Swiss driver with the quickest lap of the event.

2015 runner-up Matthieu Vaxiviere, famous for his pace at Aragon, was third behind Deletraz and Orudzhev in the first session, with Pietro Fittipaldi, Tom Dillmann and Aurelien Panis also dipping into the 1m40s margin.

The afternoon, meanwhile, was headed by AVF's Dillmann. Lotus driver Rene Binder came up just 0.022s short of the Frenchman's 1m41.294s time at the chequered flag, but was subsequently stripped of his best lap due to his car being underweight.

As such, Roy Nissany and Egor Orudzhev ended up second and third after late improvements, with rookie Matevos Isaakyan in fourth.

The 2016 Formula Renault V8 3.5 season will kick off at Motorland Aragon next weekend.
