Magny-Cours: James Walker preview

WALKER AIMS TO KEEP UP THE MOMENTUM IN FRANCE

Donington race-winner, James Walker, heads off to France this week for rounds 12 and 13 of the 2007 World Series by Renault. The next two races are being held at Magny Cours, the long-time home of the French Formula One Grand Prix.

Known for its incredibly smooth track surface, Magny Cours is a combination of fast turns and tight hairpins. Set-up is vital at this track as the car needs to be very responsive. James tested there earlier in the season so he knows what to expect.

"The early season test at Magny Cours went very well for us," said James. "It was my first time there and from what I had heard I didn't expect to like the track as much as I did. I really enjoy driving there, especially through the challenging high-speed chicanes. It's a tough circuit physically, particularly the long first corner where you can really feel the G-Forces pulling on your neck."

After taking his first World Series victory at Donington Park, James is keen to keep up the momentum heading into the next race. He has continued to train hard and is eager to carry on making progress.

"We've made steady progress throughout the season so I will be working hard to make sure we are right up there again in France, he said. "I'll have a new team-mate so I hope that it's someone quick as that really motivates me. We need to get out there and replicate what we did at Donington; I'm fired up and ready to go!"

As usual, the World Series teams will take part in two test sessions on Friday before going into qualifying at 0900hrs on Saturday. Race one is on Saturday at 1435hrs and the final race of the weekend will take place on Sunday at 1300hrs.
