To maintain the lead of the World Series by Nissan Championship at Magny Cours Is Tiago Monteiro's main goal

After the two double weekends at Jarama (Spain) and Zolder (Belgium), the World Series by Nissan will be held at the International Circuit of Magny Cours, France, on the 22nd and 23rd of May. Tiago Monteiro enters the third stage at the lead of the Driver and Team Championship chart.

The Official Minardi Formula One Test Driver will certainly have a strong "supporting crowd" in France, since he has a large fan club from the time when raced there in trophies and championships, prior to his international career. Arriving to Magny Cours at the lead of the World Series by Nissan Championship, with a five point advantage over the ex-Arrows F1 Driver, Enrique Bernoldi, is very important, even though it is a thin gap:

"It's a long Championship; nevertheless this is a truly important weekend for all of us at Carlin Motorsport since we want to maintain the lead on both Driver and Team Championships Standings. For that, we need to maintain the determination and achieve good results such as in Zolder," referred Tiago Monteiro, remembering the Belgian weekend, which will stay engraved in gold in his race career, where he conquered two victories, two fastest laps and obtained 34 points which launched him into the first position.

"The Magny Cours circuit, considering its characteristics, is completely different from Jarama and Zolder, two older tracks. It is probable that the qualifying marks will be even closer than the usual. Any sort of mistake, smallest as they may be, can cause serious result damage in terms of starting grid positions. Overtaking with equal formulas and with such a good quality drivers as the ones racing at the WSN isn't easy, that is why the grid position is vital" said Tiago Monteiro.
