Kerr adds to points tally with 7th place Monaco effort

Monte Carlo, Monaco Robbie Kerr, #5 Team KTR - Qualified 13th, Finished 7th (4 points) Robbie Kerr's efforts on the streets of Monaco today were rewarded with another four points as the British racer claimed his second top-ten finish of the season with seventh at the checkered at the end of today's 25-lap World Series by Renault race.

Having endured a frustrating qualifying session yesterday, Kerr launched his #5 KTR Dallara- Renault off the start line from 13th and powered his way into the top-ten as today's street spectacular began. With the entire 26 car field emerging from the first turn unscathed the majority of the race's overtaking had already occurred, the narrow layout of the Monte Carlo streets ensuring passing for position was virtually impossible. Kerr discovered this first hand as he found himself locked behind Portugal's Alvaro Parente who in turn sat behind his Japanese team-mate Hayanari Shimoda. While the track laid claim to a few victims, thankfully without interupting the flow of the race with a safety car period, Shimoda, Parente and Kerr ran nose-to-tail in fifth, sixth and seventh respectively. Despite several attempts by Kerr to crack Parente's defences the order remained static through to the checkered flag, the race won by Venezuela's Pastor Maldonado.

Robbie Kerr - #5 Team KTR: "I thought my start was fairly decent, I passed a few people for position then eventually found myself sitting behind Parente. I just couldn't find a way past even though I was quicker than him but that's Monaco! In terms of progress made I'm happy with the weekend, we made improvements and I've learned more about the car.

"I'd have liked to have had a stronger finish as the pace was definitely there over the two cars ahead but I collected a few more points and we'll hopefully carry that momentum to Turkey next month. We just have to keep working away and go for it over the rest of the season!"

Kerr sits equal ninth in the World Series by Renault Driver Standings, alongside fellow-Brit Steven Kane, with eight points apiece.
