JAMES WALKER AND P1 MOTORSPORT BACK ON TRACK

James Walker will be on track at the Nurburgring in Germany this weekend for the penultimate World Series by Renault meeting of 2009. After a devastating fire destroyed P1 Motorsport's workshop, just two weeks ago, the team has worked round-the-clock to keep James' Formula Renault 3.5 campaign alive.

P1 Motorsport has had to start from scratch as everything except the team's transporter was destroyed in the fire, which started in a neighbouring industrial unit. Roly Vincini and his team have pulled out all the stops and found new premises where they have been working hard to prepare cars for James and his team-mate.

"I have to say a big thank you to the team," said James, who is at P1 today for a seat-fitting. "They really have worked every hour since the fire to get these cars ready. I'm confident that they've done a great job; we expect to be as competitive as ever and we are going to the Nurburgring to win."

Since the last round of the championship, James and his management have been hard at work to secure a competitive race seat for James in 2010. The Jersey racer has made no secret of his Formula One aspirations but is mindful of the fact that there is still a lot to do in the World Series by Renault.

"We're still working hard towards the goal of Formula One and since the last race we have made a lot of progress. Lots of meetings, lots of discussions and lots to do now it is all heading in the right direction! This weekend though my concentration will be fully focussed on the Nurburgring. The P1 guys have worked so hard to give me a race car so I will be doing everything I can to make this a successful weekend for them."

Saturday's race will be shown live in the UK on Eurosport at 1300hrs BST and Sunday's race, although it gets underway at 1200hrs UK time, will be shown later that evening at 2145hrs, also on Eurosport.
