Nurburgring up next for Kerr

London, England (August 01, 2006) -- With just a handful of days in between last weekend's fifth round of the World Series by Renault, at Spa-Francorchamps, and this weekend's sixth round, hosted at the Nurburgring in Germany, Britain's Robbie Kerr hasn't had too much time to dwell on events in Belgium. Last weekend's double-header proved to be another mixed bag for the Burbage racer as he was collected once again in the first race while heading towards a top-ten spot, this time the culprit taking the form of France's Patrick Pilet, Robbie finishing the rain-soaked race in the pits with a 23rd place classification. He then went on to score a ninth place finish the following day, and two very welcome championship points, Kerr gaining an extra spot after the flag following James Rossiter's penalty.

Awaiting Robbie this weekend is the 3.198-mile Nurburgring Circuit in Germany. The Brit's no stranger to the track and was amongst the front-runners in World Series by Renault pre- season testing there back in April, Kerr ending the second test day with the eighth fastest time having earlier placed himself at the top of the timesheets from the 30-strong line-up.

Previewing what he hopes will be a more consistent World Series by Renault outing Kerr commented: "Put simply I've got to keep pushing in the hope that things finally turn around for me! So far this season the problems we've had in qualifying have meant we've had to start towards the back of the grid and fight our way through. At the Nurburgring this weekend I'd like to aim for the front in qualifying so we don't have the same issues and actually have a shot at a decent finish. "I had a pretty competitive car when we tested at the Nurburgring in the pre-season build up. I really like the circuit layout, it's got a bit of everything with the exception of a high-speed corner. It's certainly a challenging circuit and I can't wait to get out there on Friday and see what we can do. Our focus has to be on qualifying so we can make life a little easier for ourselves in the races!"

This weekend's schedule of events starts on Friday with a pair of 45-minute test sessions. Race 1 (17 laps) starts on Saturday, 5th August, at 2:45pm CET followed by Race 2 (23 laps) on Sunday, 6th August, at 1pm CET.
