Visser, 20, had piloted the F3.5 Dallara machine for AVF in the past two seasons, recording a best finish of fifth in her rookie campaign in 2014. She finished the two years in 21st and 23rd respectively.

Prior to that, the Dutch driver was on the books of the Red Bull Junior Team and was a race winner in German Formula 4's predecessor ADAC Formel Masters.

"I'm very happy to race for Pons Racing this year," she said. "Formula V8 3.5 is a very strong championship and I'm looking forward to being behind the wheel again.

"I had the opportunity to work with the Spanish outfit during the private testing in Barcelona with [Josef] Zaruba and I felt instantly at home.

"I have arrived at Pons Racing at the best moment of my career and I feel it's time to deliver now. It will be a very interesting season."

Visser will be partnered by 22-year-old rookie driver Alex Bosak, who did several years in two-litre Formula Renault categories and raced in GP3 last year, finishing 20th.

The Pole tested F3.5 machinery in the post-season with Fortec and has now announced a two-year programme with Pons.

"Firstly I would like to thank Adrian Valles, AVF Team Principal, for putting me in contact with Sito Pons and his team," said Bosak. "I'm joining the team for two years.

"I come from the GP3 series, and the Formula 3.5 car is completely different but it really suits my driving style."
