Portimao: Draco Racing preview

At Portimao as the Leader of the Championship! Baguette and Draco on the top of the league get ready for the meeting in Portugal

After Le Mans, Bertrand Baguette is the undisputed leader of the World Series Renault championship, 19 points up to the second, the Spanish Marcos Martinez. But the Belgian can not yet make quiet dreams, since there are 3 other appointments to be faced to finish the season and the first is this weekend at Portimao in the Algarve, Portugal.

This is a new circuit for everyone, which opened in November 2007 and it is used for the first time this year by the Main Series of Renault. The circuit is over an area of almost 300 hectares and it is located in Escapadinho in the hills around the town of Portimao, with a length of 4.692 kilometers.

The program differs in part from what we usually live in a weekend with the World Series Renault. Thursday 30 July there will be the first free practice session of one hour, first in the true sense of the word, because the drivers have never drive at this track. The second session is scheduled for the morning of the next day, while in the afternoon of Friday will be held the Qualifying, but attention, this time without Superpole! Drivers will also have to face all two races on Saturday, one in the morning and another in the afternoon.
