Firman ends Nissan World Series programme
Ralph Firman has withdrawn from this year's Dallara Nissan World Series due to sponsorship issues which have made it impossible for him to continue with the Gabord Competicion Team. The 28 year old former Jordan Formula One driver made his debut for Gabord Competicion in the opening rounds of the World Series in Jarama, Spain.
"Naturally I am disappointed not to participate in the full season with Gabord Competicion but we have been unable to find the funding necessary to run the team's second car," said Firman. "I would like to thank the team for giving me the opportunity to race in Jarama and I wish them every success for the remainder of the season."
Firman will now concentrate his efforts on his debut in the Le Mans 24 Hours sports car race for the Racing for Holland Dome-Judd, while working towards a full time return to top level single seater racing before the end of 2004.
