Spa: Draco Racing race 2 report

Big recovery for Draco Team in Race 2: 11 positions recovered by Leal and 9 by Berthon

Second day of competition in the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps for the circus WSR 3.5 that had to face bad weather with rain in qualifying and in the race.

This morning qualifying was ruined by heavy rain which caused many problems on the track. Julian Leal have made a crash and he had to start from the back row of the grid, while his teammate, Nathanael Berthon, just when he was doing his fast lap, he saw the red flag and he was therefore unable to finish his performance.

The start of a race was postponed for rain and the drivers started behind the safety car. The team then began the mandatory pit stop changed two tires.

Among the confusion of the rain and the pit stops, Draco Drivers recover many positions.

But many drivers have a drive-through (step into the pits at reduced speed) given by the commissioners to almost half of the grid in the race, including Berthon. In fact some teams had opted for slick tires seen initially uncertain weather and they have had to change with rain tires when it started to rain heavily in a short time of the exposure of the cartel of 5 minutes. For this reason they have found a few seconds over the maximum time and 10 cars were penalized during the race.
