Spa F3.5: Vaxiviere takes first pole of 2016 in red-flagged qualifying
Last year's championship runner-up Matthieu Vaxiviere scored his first pole of 2016 in the first Formula V8 3.5 qualifying session at Spa-Francorchamps.
Egor Orudzhev led the way in the session's first stint, which ended prematurely due to Giuseppe Cipriani crashing at the Bus Stop.
The Russian continued sit at the top until the final five minutes, when he was dethroned by first Louis Deletraz and then Rene Binder.
SMP Racing's Vaxiviere then lowered the benchmark by half a second, his 1m58.226s effort enough to secure pole.
Arden teammates Aurelien Panis and Orudzhev took second and third with their respective final flyers, with Binder ending up fourth.
Championship leader Tom Dillmann was just six hundredths slower than Binder in fifth, the Frenchman followed by Louis Deletraz and Yu Kanamaru.
Sophomore driver Roy Nissany, RP's Johnny Cecotto and Force India test driver Alfonso Celis completed the top 10.
