Piccola Scuderia Corse and driver Neil McFadyen set the fastest time of the day at Sydney's Oran Park circuit (Monday), recording a 1:02.60s on old tyres, a sheer 1.37 seconds under the current lap record.

The Piccola Scuderia machine wasn't upstaged throughout the day, although the team admits that this was not the intention of the session. Amid fluctuating track temperatures, the PSC team took the most from the test schedule to assess a combination of suspension / chassis setups over the course of 82 laps. There is still plenty of margin to improve and it would be too premature to pin-down exactly what speed their F307 is capable of reaching on Australian circuits.

The engineers will now sift through the data that was amassed from the day to identify weaknesses and draw conclusions on the setup strategies which were tested. As part of their program, Neil also used the session to bed- in a few new components on both the F307 and F304 Dallara racecars.

The aerodynamic pachage is certainly a step forward, as is the stunning 'Scuderia-Rosso' paint scheme - a credit to the meticulous attention of PSC sponsor - Berlina Bodyworks, Sydney.

Piccola have yet to name their complete driver line-up for Oran Park, however are eager to prove their pace come race day on the ANZAC long weekend (April 25-27). The team warmly welcomes all their sponsors and friends to help support the team in what should be an extremely fast spectacle.
