AUSF3: Team BRM Oran Park preview

Team BRM prepared for round 5 of the 2003 Australian Formula 3 Championship

Team BRM heads into the 5th round of the 2003 Australian Formula 3 Championship at Oran Park Raceway, near Sydney, with big expectations.

The Team tested at Oran Park last week in the lead up to this round. Team BRM's young gun, Karl Reindler, Dallara F301 Spiess Opel, was very impressive in the wet test session, setting a time 2 seconds a lap than the other competitors. This was even more impressive as it was his first visit to the track.

Matt Fitzgerald, Dallara F301 Spiess Opel, was unable to attend the test due to work commitments, but is looking forward to returning to Oran Park and improving on his results from last year. Fitzgerald scored points in both races in the Oran Park round last year, finishing in 4th and 5th place in the two races during the weekend.

After an impressive performance in the number 3 Team BRM Dallara F398 Spiess Opel, in New Zealand and Clipsal 500, the team will promote Craig Rundle for the Oran Park round. Rundle, will race the Team's third Dallara F301 with backing from U-Drive SA for the event. Team BRM is yet to sign a new driver to replace Darren Palmer for the remainder of the season.

Round 5 of the Australian Formula 3 Championship, promises to be highly exciting and fiercely competitive. A bumper grid of 24 cars has been entered for the round, including the addition of four Dallara F301 Renault Sodemo's. These cars are part of the Race Torque Team who have come to Australia, from the Asian Formula Series.
