Lee to Race with RC Motorsport for Remainder of Italian F3 Season

MILAN, Italy, Sept. 13 - RC Motorsport will field a car for American Matt Lee for the remaining six races in the Italian F3 Championship, Eleonora Marcone, the team's sporting director, has announced.

"Matt is a very good driver, and after he qualified so well at Verano I decided I wanted a Yankee on our team," Marcone said. "The final part of the season is very important, and we have high expectations for the three remaining doubleheaders.

"The three remaining circuits - Vallelunga on Sept. 26, Mugello on Oct. 10 and Monza on Oct. 24 - are very challenging courses and the drivers who already have many miles on them will have an advantage, but I'm confident that our package of drivers, cars and team personnel will be up to the task," Marcone added.

With only two 30-minute practice sessions to get acclimated to his new team and new car prior to qualifying at Verano, Lee qualified fourth out of 23 competitors. The rising star from Syosset, N.Y. went on to post fifth-and seventh-place finishes in those races.

Marcone plans to announce the name of the third driver who will join Lee and Italy's Andrea Roda on the team shortly.
