MISANO: WINNING DEBUT FOR PAOLO RUBERTI IN THE OPENING WEEKEND OF THE ITALIAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP

Victorious debut for Paolo Ruberti, in crew with Fabrizio del Monte, at Misano in the first race of the season opener of the Italian GT 2010 Championship at the end of spectacular night race. The driver from Verona proved to be competitive during the first qualifying behind the wheel of the Porsche 997-RSR belonging to team Autorlando-Sport and set the third fastest lap of GT2 class with the time 1'59.692.

During the race, Ruberti has been protagonist of a thrilling recovery that took him to the lead during the fourth lap. The leadership was kept by his crew-mate until the chequered flag. Early finishing in race two instead due to an off track exit by Del Monte during the first stint that set the word end to the race of the number 1 Porsche.

Paolo Ruberti: "Starting the championship with a victory is certainly positive; in
qualifying, despite the poor grip, we managed to be competitive therefore I think everything is in place to fight for top positions throughout the season. What a shame for race two, the margins mechanisms keeps our chances for the championship still unaltered anyway".

The next round of Italian GT Championship is scheduled for 9 May at Vallelunga (Rome).
