Misano official test: Campana leads the longest timesheet of the last few years
Debut marked by rain for the Italian Formula 3 2010 Championship that started today at Misano with the first official collective tests of the season: twenty-eight drivers worked in four one-hour long sessions in preparation to the season opener scheduled for next weekend on this very track.
After the morning rain that made the tarmac wet until the beginning of the afternoon, some sunshine allowed teams to use slick tyres in the last session: Sergio Campana (Lucidi Motors) set the fastest time in 1'35.103, and preceded the two Mygales of Christopher Zanella (JD Motorsport, 1'35.328) and Gabriel Chaves (Eurointernational, 1'35.419).
Gianmarco Raimondo (Lucidi Motors), Daniel Mancinelli (Team Ghinzani), Francesco Castellacci (RC Motorsport) and Samuele Buttarelli (Prema Powerteam) followed. Marco Falci (TP Formula) appeared in growth while the British driver Dino Zamparelli (Corbetta Competizioni) drew the attention to himself after the first kilometers run last week at Varano.
The winner of 2009 Italian Formula Azzurra Championship, Alberto Cerqui (Ombra Racing), set the record for completed laps: 74. Just a few kilometers were run instead by Cesar Ramos (BVM-Target), victim of an accident in the morning.
Most of the teams will continue their work tomorrow in a session of collective private tests.
