Monza: Monday quotes
After the victory of the absolute title by Cesar Ramos (BVM-Target), Monday quotes end the final round of the Italian Formula 3 2010 Championship.
Cesar Ramos (BVM-Target - R1: 8th, R2: 1st):
"Winning the title at the end of such a fought race like race two has
been really exciting. Team BVM-Target worked perfectly throughout the
season and I have to thank all the men of the team, thanks to their work
I always had a competitive single seater. Winning a championship
extremely tight until the end is a huge satisfaction to which soon it
will be added that of testing a Ferrari Formula One car".
Stephane Richelmi (Lucidi Motors - R1: DNF, R2: 2nd):
"The top three drivers deserve the title, but the winner is just one...
This is valid for Monza's weekend too, where I have remained among the
first three drivers unfortunately. Anyway, I had a good season and I'd
like to thank team Lucidi Motors for the good work we performed together.
In race two I gave the maximum and we were the fastest... after Ramos: he
was really performing and it was practically impossible to me to keep his
pace. This has been anyway my best season and now I have the test with
Ferrari, certainly an important chance and almost unique".
Andrea Caldarelli (Prema Junior - R1: 2nd, R2: 4th):
"I am happy for getting the third final place in the championship and the
Ferrari Formula One test, which was the partial objective of the season.
The title was at our reach but too many external factors compromised the
regularity of my results. Anyway, now it is time focusing on the future
and start planning 2011".
Daniel Mancinelli (Team Ghinzani - R1: 4th, R2: 3rd):
"Race one has been certainly thrilling, but in the heat my team mate
un-voluntarily bumped me and in that episode all my ambitions probably
vanished. In race two I tried anyway to get the third final place but the
podium unfortunately was not enough".
Sergio Campana (Lucidi Motors - R1: 1st, R2: DNF):
"The weekend was all in all positive. Race one has been great: winning at
the last lap such a fought race has been great and I'll never forget it.
Race two unfortunately did not go as I hoped for and I leave Monza a bit
sorry for not finishing it".
Tom Dillmann (Eurointernational - R1: DNF, R2: DNF):
"Qualifying has been particularly positive for us with my third place and
the fourth of Chaves. In race however bad luck persecuted me: the contact
with Richelmi put me out of race one at the beginning, while an electric
problem stopped me in race two".
Alberto Cerqui (Ombra Racing - R1: 10th, R2: DNF):
" It has been a weekend with highs and lows, but I am satisfied anyway
for getting a podium of the rookies on my home track. The fifth final
place is quite a positive result, considered the high level of
competitiveness characterizing the Italian Formula 3 Championship; this
season was useful for gaining a good experience, thanks also to the
optimum support of the whole team Ombra Racing and I am sure that next
year I will use it to aim high".
Andrea Roda (RC Motorsport - R1: 11th, R2: DNF):
"The balance of the weekend is positive, especially in terms of race
performance while in qualifying I did not manage to find slipstreams to
exploit. I run two recovery races: in the first one I got close to
points, while in the second I was twelfth but at the last lap I run out
of fuel and I had to park in the middle of the Parabolica turn.
The sixth place in the rookies classification is below my initial
expectations, but analyzing the trend throughout the season my
performance has been constantly improving".
Alex Fontana (Corbetta Competizioni - R1: 13th, R2: DNF):
"The weekend has been quite difficult for me: in the second session of
qualifying I stopped at the second lap due to a problem to the gearbox,
while in qualifying we completed just five laps before an air bubble in
the radiator caused an excessive temperature increase. I started race one
from the twenty-second place therefore I reckon that the thirteenth final
place is a good result: it has been a good recovery despite we did not
find the right setup. In race two the failure of the fuel pump stopped me
during the formation lap".
Ronnie Valori (BVE Racing Team - R1: 16th, R2: 15th):
"On Friday I suffered quite a lot of understeering and the off track exit
in the second free practice session did not help us at all. We worked
anyway in the right direction, the car improved allowing me to drive more
fruitfully. I believe that overall this has been a positive weekend".
