FOURTH FOR REID IN FINAL ALL-JAPAN F3 SERIES RACE

New Zealand A1GP World Cup of Motorsport driver Jonny Reid * ended his 2006 All-Japan Fomrula 3 Championship programme with a fourth place finish in the final race at the Twin Ring Motegi circuit on Sunday.

The 23-year-old Aucklander was an early casualty in the first race, pulling out at the first corner, but he came back strongly to eventually be credited with a fourth place finish in the second race, which ended in controversial circumstances.

Champion elect Adrian Sutil, who had stalled on the line and retired from Saturday's race, led Sunday's race from start to finish, but he and TOM'S teammate Kazuya Oshima were disqualified soon after following a protest lodged by a rival team.

That meant the race win went to Marko Asmer with Koki Saga second and INGING teammates Roberto Streit and Reid respectively third and fourth.

Because the disqualification was immediately appealed by Sutil and Oshima's team, final results and championship series points are currently on hold.
