Bottas Boosts Stellar Cast for Macau

AT&T Williams Formula 1 test driver Valtteri Bottas, 21, has been confirmed for November's Star River Windsor Arch 57th Macau Grand Prix, completing a stellar cast of exciting young talent for the Formula 3 Blue Riband event.

Bottas, 3rd in this year's F3 Euroseries with ART Grand Prix, will be making his second visit to the city and its famous Guia street circuit, having finished 5th there in 2009. The Finn is entered by Prema Powerteam for Macau, partnering Spaniards Roberto Merhi, 5th in the Euroseries this season, and Daniel Juncadella.

Said Bottas: "Macau is such a special event with all the best F3 drivers in the world, and this circuit is just unique that the combination of both is exceptional. Last year my speed there was already pretty good; this year I'm going to Macau with another team and I hope we will be able to pull a good show for the fans and the spectators."

Earlier this year, Bottas made motorsport history by becoming the first driver ever to win the F3 Masters in Zandvoort twice, following his 2009 victory there with a second emphatic win from pole.

He began karting at the age of six, and in 2008 won both the Formula Renault Eurocup and Northern European Cup, before entering the Formula 3 Euroseries the following season where he finished 3rd.

With the addition of Bottas, the entry for the Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix includes the top nine F3 Euroseries championship drivers from this season, six of the top 10 British F3 finishers, and five of the top six in the 2010 Japanese F3 Championship, including winner Yuji Kunimoto.

The Star River Windsor Arch 57th Macau Grand Prix will be held from November 18-21. The Qualification Race for the Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix will be held on Saturday, with the 15-lap Grand Prix on Sunday, along with the final two rounds of the 2010 FIA World Touring Car Championship season.
