ZOLDER. The 20th edition of the Masters of F3 will be held at Zadvoort, in Holland, on the 5th and 6th of June. One of the contenders, in what could be called the European championship of F3, is Belgian F3 EuroSeries contender Laurens Vanthoor. The official VW Motorsport and RACB National Team Member will race for his French team Signature VW.

The 20th edition of the Masters of F3 will again take place at the Circuitpark Zandvoort where it all started in 1991. Since then, many great promising drivers won the title, with David Coulthard, Jos Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton as most illustrious names. The last winner of the Masters was F3 EuroSeries 2010 champion Jules Bianchi, who is competing in the GP2 championship this year. Drivers coming home second and third listen to such names as Ralf Schumacher, Nick Heidfeld, Mark Webber and Adrian Sutil, while Rubens Barrichello, Nelson Piquet Jr were among those taking pole position in the Dutch dunes.

Laurens Vanthoor: "It's a legendary event, with a list of great motorsport names. So, I'm of course very happy to compete once again in Zandvoort, but this year with my regular team. The advantage compared to last year, is that I now know the track, the car and last but not least the tyres as well. We use the same make of tyres in the Masters of F3, as in the F3 EuroSeries. The compound of the Kumho rubber is different, but that shouldn't be a problem."

"My ambition is a top-5 spot, although I want to race stress free. It's always very difficult to predict a race or result, especially as you don't have all elements in your own hands, like those I experienced in the opening rounds of the F3 EuroSeries. Since the Spanish meeting in Valencia, things are improving and the only real aim is to continue on this road."
