Brackley, UK – British F3 racing team, T-Sport, will take on the 2012 Macau Grand Prix next month, with partner ThreeBond and British racer Alexander Sims, reuniting the team that won at the Nürburgring during the summer.

With all parties motivated to win this will be a strong entry for the toughest F3 race of them all. It is the event where the team, the driver and the car have to be on top form from the moment they arrive and perhaps the biggest test of a young single-seater driver.

Alexander Sims’ relationship with T-Sport goes back a long way as he has worked with the team as a test driver and coach.

The opportunity to take on Macau with T-Sport was one he didn’t want to miss and the race he won at the Nürburgring in August made sure he qualified for a Macau entry.

“Macau is an incredibly special circuit to race at and has always been a great place for me to drive a Formula 3 car,” said Sims. “The requirements there to put in a fast lap are far more difficult than any other track I've been to.

The mixture of fast straights with slipstreaming and overtaking opportunities along with the tight, twisty and super demanding 'mountain' section make it an amazing circuit.

When T-Sport called me on the radio after winning at the Nürburgring saying 'looks like you've earned yourself a drive at Macau' it was a fantastic feeling. I know our package is strong and we are going there expecting to be right at the front.”

“It was important for us to go to Macau with an experienced driver and Alexander fitted the bill perfectly,” explained ThreeBond with T-Sport Team Principal Russell Eacott.

“Our package is strong: with the right driver, the right people, the right car and engine combination with the ThreeBond-Nissan SR20VE engine. We’ll have the pace so all we will need is a bit of luck to turn that pace into a result.”

“T-Sport have been excellent at giving me time in the car to hone my skills back to what an F3 car needs,” concluded Sims.

“Macau brings together the best F3 drivers and teams in the world though so it’s never going to be an easy event, but I know we are going there giving ourselves the best possible chance.”

ThreeBond with T-Sport are testing at Silverstone today and tomorrow in preparation for the Macau Grand Prix, which takes place on Sunday 18th November.
