Clivio Piccione Impressed Again at Estoril

Clivio Piccione was back behind the wheel of Arden's F3000 championship winning car last week (Thursday & Friday) as part of their final driver evaluation for GP2.

He completed 46 laps during Thursday's session, running on a wet set-up for the whole day. Piccione mastered the Estoril circuit, a new track for him, very quickly - setting a quickest time of 1.55.19 and the team were impressed considering the challenging track conditions.

"Despite the intermittent showers and wet conditions I managed to get in a good few laps and I'm pleased with the time I set today".

Friday saw much drier conditions and Clivio got off to a flying start. He got quicker and quicker as the day progressed and set his fastest time of 1.29.60.

Taking into consideration that this was Clivio's first time at the track and his previous lack of running time in an F3000 car, his pace was impressive and he set a time quicker than the team's existing lap record at Estoril.

"I've enjoyed the test with Arden immensely and running at Estoril was a great opportunity to learn a new track and it was good to set such a fast time. Having spent time with the team, I am now looking forward to racing in the GP2 series next year"
