Coloni Motorsport continued the development programme started in Hungaroring and Imola last week with Zsolt Baumgartner and Tonio Liuzzi in the official testing session in Misano (I).

The Hungarian driver scored an excellent 2nd time in 1'20'682. The Coloni Motorsport new driver's performance was extremely good, because Baumgartner tested for the first time today in Misano circuit. In the morning session, the talented Hungarian driver focused on know the track and on find the right set-up. In the afternoon session, Zsolt was immediately quick with new tyres and and he felt the car was performing well. In the first three testing sessions with Coloni Motorsport, Baumgartner was always on the pace: in Hungaroring he got the new record, in Imola he conquered the 3rd time overall and today in Misano he registered the 2nd time.

Tonio Liuzzi tested with old tyres in the morning session, setting the car for his drive style and comparing different set-ups. In the afternoon session Tonio completed only few laps because of gearbox problem. In consideration of this reasons, Liuzzi scored an excellent 5th time in 1'21"574 with old tyres, lapping extremely constant with the full tank.

Paolo Coloni, Team principal: "I am satisfied with the result of this first testing day in Misano. We are very happy about the drivers performance: Baumgartner was very constant and quick and Liuzzi, without a gearbox problem, could be on the top position. Liuzzi demonstrated to feel very well the car and he enjoyed a lot to drive the Lola B2/50-Zytek. We are working hard to prepare the Championship and to be ready for the first race. The Misano testing, despite the F.I.A. F.3000 International Championship will not race on this track, is very good to test the car in medium downforce conditions."
