FIA International F.3000 -Round 7- Silverstone (GB)

The Coloni Motorsport drivers started third and eighth on the grid for the FIA F.3000 British Grand Prix which was held in dry conditions. Enrico Toccacelo made a good start passing two drivers ahead of him to move up into sixth position, while Giorgio Pantano lost two positions because of wheelspin to take fourth. Anyway, Giorgio regain the fourth position when he overtook Pizzonia on the second lap. After the first two laps the top six positions all remained the same. Pantano with the fourth position confirmed his third position in the Drivers Championship, while Toccacelo finished in the eighth position because of understeer in the Complex. The team confirmed the third position in the Teams' Championship.

Giorgio Pantano: "I hadn't a very good start, but after two laps I overtook Pizzonia and I rejoined the fourth position. My car was very good in the last laps, but at the beginning of the race it was difficult to drive. I lost the podium, but it's another three points for the championship and it is not a bad result."

Enrico Toccacelo: "I had a good start and I took two positions. The car felt quite good at the beginning but when the car started to go off we lost a bit of grip and I had a lot understeer. So, I did a little mistake at the Priory corner and I lost the position in favour of Friesacher. I am not happy for my eight place, but I am confident I can get some important results until the end of the season."

Coloni Motorsport: "It has been a pretty good race for us. Toccacelo made an excellent start and gained places to be running sixth. Unfortunately he lost two position because of understeer. Pantano lost two places at the start, but he was able to rejoined the fourth position. However we are happy to have two cars in the top-ten and we are determined to get as soon as possible another win."
