Having finished fifth and seventh in Friday’s two races, things got worse in the third and fourth race for Gowda, before he made a comeback in the day's final race.
The former National Karting Champion sat out of Race 3, which was comprehensively won by Presley Martono. Danial Frost and home favourite Worawong Kamarakul joined the Indonesian on the podium.
In Race 4, technical problems again hampered Gowda's outing, with the Indian limited to just six laps of racing. It was a costly retirement for him, considering he started third in the race.
Meanwhile, Faine Kahia went on to secure his second win of the weekend after pole-sitter Isyraf Danish was by let down by technical problems. Frost once again finished on the podium, with Khalid Al-Wahaibi taking third.
Weekend's first podium in Race 5
Things finally came together for Gowda in the final race of day. Starting from fourth on the grid, the Indian withstood pressure from a number of rivals including Kamarakul.
Gowda's tenacity paid off as he secured the final podium position, made all the more fruitful after the troubles he sustained earlier in the weekend.
“To be up here on the podium is great, especially after having a difficult few races!,'' he said.
"At the start, my mind was only on the lights and making a good start. Starting from P4, I was able to keep the position until an opportunity on Lap 7 allowed me to gain a position.
"But then Martono was able to catch me and did overtake me, but there were about five of us who were all bunched together. I am really happy that I managed to finish P3!”
At the front, Martono made it two wins in a day, while Kahia continued his podium streak with second.
