India was added on the 2018 F4 SEA calendar earlier this month following a failed attempt to run a race in the subcontinent in 2016.

Now it has been revealed that India will host two rounds of the championship, both of which will take place at the recently-renovated MMRT track in Chennai.

The two rounds will club to form a double header; the first three races will take place on September 1 and 2, while the remaining three will take place on the following weekend (September 8-9).

“We are looking forward to our first F4 SEA race in India with a double-header at the Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai, on the 1st and 2nd September and on the following weekend the 8th and 9th September,” F4 SEA promoter Peter Thompson said.

“MERITUS.GP (the exclusive F4 SEA race engineering supplier) started their Asian adventure in 1996 with Narain Karthikeyan at this very track. Narain is the first of eight F1 graduates from the MERITUS.GP team.”

The championship will begin in Malaysia on July 07-08 and will conclude in the same country on December 01-02.

Apart from India and Malaysia, Thailand’s Buriram Circuit will also have a place on the calendar.

Several Indian drivers took part in the first season of F4 SEA, with Akash Gowda finishing third in the standings.
