Barber Motorsport Park, July 30. -- Kevin Lacroix meant business all the way today as he led from green light to checkered flag to earn his fourth win of the season in the first race of the weekend in the Formula BMW USA championship held at Berber Motorsport Park in Alabama. For the St-Eustache, Quebec rookie, this was his sixth podium of the season. Starting from pole, Lacroix took a comfortable lead before a yellow flag that closed the gap between cars. At the restart, he held off Richard Philippe until he went wide in a corner. Lacroix was then pressured by Eduardo Piscopo but managed to stay on top until the end. He now holds an 11-point margin lead over Philippe in the season standings.

"I had a very good start and was pulling away until that yellow flag. At the restart, I concentrated on driving fast and letting the others take chances if they wanted to get ahead. Tomorrow, I must have a good start to beat Piscopo, otherwise I won't take any chances and stay on the track to score points."

Lacroix started first today according to the season standings because the qualifying session was cancelled yesterday when thunderstorms flooded the race facility in a matter of minutes. Tomorrow, he will start from first row beside Piscopo in the second round of the doubleheader.
