24/05/2012 - Monaco's qualifying valid for the fourth round of the GP2 Series 2012, ended with a result under the expectations for Stefano Coletti who aimed to qualify in the first rows on the home streets.
The young Monegasque, seventh in the morning free practice (1'23.323), went on track in the first of the two fourteen minutes long sessions decided by organizers to divide the drivers and limit traffic problems. Coletti set some interesting sector times on an improving tarmac, but he could not get the most out of his last and decisive effort due to a slower car found on the line in sector two. The sixth time of group A (1'22.174) was worth the twelfth final place on the grid of race one, where he will most probably be attacking since the first lap.
Stefano Coletti: "My ambition for this qualifying was different but the setup changes done after free practice did not give the expected results even if I would have probably improved my time without the overtaking problem in the final lap. Now I am called to a recover race, which is something difficult indeed on the Principality's streets but it is not impossible".
