Conor Daly OK after huge testing accident
Conor Daly walked away from a big wreck in testing
The 22-year-old Conor Daly has been tweeting up a storm since his big shunt in Abu Dhabi testing, which sent his Lazarus GP car barrel rolling on track.
Apparently, according to the American via his Twitter feed, the car of Facu Regalia moved into the racing line while traveling much slower than race pace on a blind corner. Daly made contact with the car and the incident ensued.
"Unfortunate lack of respect on track led to a big incident. I was on a lap with purple 1st sector green 2nd sector and another car came out of the pits going slow on line in most blind and quick section of the track, last sector in front of hotel an I could not miss him," the Tweets read.
Both drivers were unhurt in the accident
The true tragedy about the accident was Daly's pace on the day. The Lazarus GP team is a mid-field team, but Daly was on a lap that saw his first sector go purple (fastest of session) and his second sector was green (personal best) before the accident.
