First lap decisive for Coletti in Singapore's Sprint Race

Leimer is still the classification leader with 179 points and is followed by Bird at 172 and Nasr at 148. Coletti is currently fourth at 135.

The round of Singapore - penultimate of the GP2 Series 2013 - ended with quite an eventful Sprint Race for Stefano Coletti.

The race had its decisive moment at the heat of the first lap when the young Monegasque driver hit the back of the car driven by Mitch Evans (Arden International). Team Rapax's driver managed to continue but his manoeuvre was later on sanctioned by stewards with a drive-through penalty.

A pit stop to replace the damaged nose took place at lap seven, following the penalty serve. Coletti did not give up though and pushed hard putting in a string of fast laps before crossing the finish line in twenty-fourth position.

Stefano Coletti: "After the contact with Evans I tried to keep going with the damaged nose despite the difficulties but then I was waved the orange-black flag that notified me the penalty, therefore I had to come back to the pits. At that point the race was compromised which is a real pity as shown by the potential expressed in the final quick laps."

The GP2 Series will be back on track next November 3rd in Abu Dhabi for the final act of the season.
