Monza Qualifying -- Hope and frustration
Kazuki Nakajima took the 4th quickest time of today's qualifying. Kazuki did a good session thanks to an excellent job on the car after the free practice of this morning. Starting from this position tomorrow gives some good expectations to grab some points from both championships.
Nicolas Lapierre finished this session at a disappointing 19th position despite a promising 9th position during the practice tests this morning. Unfortunately, Nicolas couldn't find the same speed with his car this afternoon.
Kazuki Nakajima: "it's a very good qualifying session for me, better than the morning practices. It was my first test on this track with Gp2 and I worked hard to understand the car. Then, we checked data acquisitions with my engineer in order to find the best set up for the qualifying session. We finally have made the right choices and found the good balance as shown by my 4th place. I would like to thanks all the team for the improvements done. I'm very happy of this position and I will do my best tomorrow, as usual--"
Nicolas Lapierre: "it's a disappointing qualification session after the free practice of the morning which was positive. On my first set of tyres, I couldn't take advantage of the track when the conditions were the best ones. In my second run, I didn't improve due to the traffic. For tomorrow, the start will be exciting with a lot of car in the first chicane. Then, I will push hard to grab positions."
