DISAPPOINTMENT AS CARROLL MISSES OUT ON PODIUM
Great Britain's Adam Carroll narrowly missed out on his second podium of the weekend at the Nurburgring in Germany. The Racing Engineering driver finished 5th in the 24 lap sprint race. With 6 stallers on the grid, Adam moved up from 6th to 3rd by the first corner passing Jose Maria Lopez, whom he grabbed the podium off in the final meters of yesterday's race.
But later in today's round, Lopez was to have his revenge and deliver the same blow to the Irishman. It was Lewis Hamilton who cut through the field and despite holding him off for several laps, Adam was powerless as the ART driver sped past on his way to victory.
Carroll said: "Today's race wasn't too bad at all -- the whole weekend has been good when you look at the improvements that we've made."
"The middle section of today's race was tough but the balance came back towards the end and I was able to push again," said the 23 year old from Portadown in Northern Ireland.
Things are just much better and we have made some big advances but we still have some work to do, especially before Spain this coming weekend."
Barcelona is Racing Engineering's home round and big things are expected. Adam Carroll is the only driver outside of Spain and Latin America to receive backing from Telefonica and Repsol so the pressure is on for the back to back round.
