Sergio Perez is the 2010 GP2 Series vice-champion after a stellar performance in the Feature race on the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Starting from second on the grid, the Mexican racer sailed into the lead while first time polesitter Oliver Turvey had a slow takeoff when the lights went off in today's standing start. Perez was able to build his lead to score the victory.

Perez easily took the checkered flag in his Barwa Addax Team car with a margin over 20 seconds to the Brit. "I think we are quite strong in the race: that's why we won today, and it was nice to show that even though we didn't win the championship I had already contact in Formula One, but I wanted to finish the season on a high, and with high professionalism," he said.
"We could do this, and even though we didn't win the championship we could show that we were one of the fastest, and if all the stuff that happened to us didn't happen I'm sure we could have won this title. But anyway I'm happy with my season, and looking forward to tomorrow," added Perez.
Turvey ended second, holding off a charging Sam Bird. To top off his slow start take-off, the Briton also had a side-to-side contact with Fabio Leimer at turn one with no significant damage to his iSport International car.
"Given our dominance yesterday, I was confident I'd be able to challenge for victory," said Turvey, "but motor racing is an unpredictable science. After I'd taken pole position, Sergio Perez said he'd no idea how I was able to summon a lap like that. After watching him beat me today, I've no idea how he was able to summon laps like that!"
Bird stayed clear of most of the mayhem during the race to snatch third at the end. Early in the going, Luiz Razia and Romain Grosjean were battling it out for third while Dani Clos was moving his way up after a qualifying penalty moved him from second on grid by 10 placements.
Bird elected to do his pit stop early which allowed his ART Grand Prix crew to set him up to remain up front when the others made their stop. Grosjean was delayed in the pits, letting Bird clearly take the final podium spot.

Dani Clos scored fourth, making up lost ground from the penalty yesterday. Davide Valsecchi finished in the top five with Grosjean close behind in sixth. Luiz Razia and Josef Kral rounded out the top eight of the feature race.
The order for tomorrow will see the top eight reversed, with Kral on pole and Perez starting eighth. The fight to watch for tomorrow will be between Razia's Rapax team over Perez and his Addax team as they chase for the Teams' Championship. With the win today the lead went back to Addax but with only one point between them Rapax can still easily claim the title.
Pastor Maldonado had already wrapped up the drivers' title for the Rapax team. The newly crowned champ finished 17th today and will probably not be able to help the team tomorrow. Meanwhile Addax's Giedo van der Garde crashed out of today's race right after the start. Other retirments included Adrian Zaugg, Fabio Leimer and Ho Pin Tung.
