Trident Racing set to expand by fielding 3 cars in the 2008 International Formula Master.
Trident Racing is glad to announce the birth of a new racing program involving the International Formula Master. While continuing in its commitments to the GP2 Series, the team owner Maurizio Salvadori is set to expand with a 3-car operation in the new Formula-type championship that just ended a largely positive maiden season. One of the three cars will be driven by Latvian driver Harald Schlegelmilch, the latest addition to Trident`s roster, who signed a long-term agreement.
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Team Principal
"I`m extremely happy to announce, just two years after the debut of Trident Racing in the GP2 Series, the new sporting program that will see us involved in the International Formula Master. I have to say thanks to Mauro Sipsz and N-Technology for accepting our entry, and for the warm welcome we received. Our move came - as a natural step - to carry on our developmental program, giving drivers and technicians a chance to evolve their skills and improve their experience, making them ready to an involvement in our main operation.
"Apart from the technical peculiarities, the series was chosen for its high-level organization, and for the great live TV coverage offered by Eurosport. We hope to be fast since the beginning, though we`re also aware of the high competitive level of all the other teams. Our technical staff will feature Stefano Alessi, who`ll be following the GP2 Asia series too, partnered by two engineers: Carlo Zone and Stefano Versari. Zone is going to bring a valuable experience built in this year`s Formula Master Championship, while Versari is coming from a Super Light Cars, where he followed the development of a Formula 3 car both during the engineering and the building processes. Another news comes from the long-term agreement signed with 19-year-old Harald Schlegelmilch, who impressed the whole team in the recent GP2 tests. We expect Schlegelmilch to continue, during the 2008 International Formula Master, the display of talent seen in the F.3 Euro Series".
